Our Director

Leslie Dalton - Director SF Sound Wave Chorus

Leslie Dalton joined Sweet Adelines in January of 1997, becoming a member of San Francisco Sound Wave, and quickly learned this was not a hobby to be taken lightly! After being the baritone section leader and assistant director for about three years, she stepped off the risers to become the director.

To keep singing on the risers, Leslie joined the Pacific Empire Chorus, where she continues to perform in their energetic front row.

Leslie joined a quartet practically from the day she started singing in Sweet Adelines, and has had tremendous success. Swing Shift took first place in Region 12 in 2000 and 2002, and her current quartet Kinetix continued the tradition with a 2003 blue ribbon. They are representing Region 12 as the 2005 Sweet Adelines Region 12 Champions.

In her spare time, Leslie serves on the Region 12 faculty, sits on the regional Educational Steering Committee, coaches quartets, dabbles in arranging, and spend a lot of weekends away from home getting as much music education as she can. Leslie Dalton - Director SF Sound Wave Chorus

As you can see, she likes to be busy and music is her passion.

She does have a life outside of Sweet Adelines. She has two grown sons, Nick and Chris, a beautiful daughter-in-law, Chalese, and her dear mother, sisters, and brothers who all live in Phoenix. And, no home is complete without cats - Buster and Peanut keep her company when she's lucky enough to be there.
